Moon
This composition is written for Alison McNeill (soprano) and Sasha Savaloni (guitar) inspired by the verse of the persian mystical poet Rumi. The verses of Rumi cross time and border and his poetic power go beyond wall, religions and languages with a message of love and brotherhood.
The piece conceived as an imaginary pilgrimage to an ancient poetic world distant in place and time from us.
At night, I open the window and ask
the moon to come and press its
face against mine.
Breathe into me.
Close the language-door and
open the love window.
The moon
won’t use the door, only the window.
A Year with Rumi
